New Video: Cee-Lo – Fuck You

This video is greatness. My heart melted as soon as the pudgy boy dropped the first F-bomb. We all love under dog stories. Fat kid likes a skinny little girl who doesn’t like him. The relationship continues on like this through high school and college. You look up one day and that fat kid is now the man. Great video I’m so downloading this for my ipod!

Download || {Milk+Syrup}

I’m slightly out of the loop guys life happened and I had to step away from this blog for a second. Now because I was out of the loop I probably wouldn’t have found out about this had it not been for twitter. I’ve heard of him but this is the first time I’m hearing any material and honestly…. I favor this over Finally Famous vol. 3. Which means that you really need to download this or you’re just not living your life properly.

Kanye West – See Me Now feat Beyonce & Charlie Wilson || Download {Alternate}

Ok At first I really wasn’t feeling this song and then…. Charlie Wilson started to bless me with ill runs. Like no shit Uncle Charlie was giving me everything I was like Beyonce whom? I’m still not sure how people are gonna feel about this one. It’s giving us a bit of the old Ye’ before 808′s & borderline depression so for this reason and the ill ass Charlie Wilson runs I have to like it. I do love the fact that he got Beyonce to say nigga that cracked me up. I wonder if this will be bigger than just a filler track a video for this would be nice. Video NOT COMMERCIAL Kanye!

Most people, after the first glance of the tracklisting will probably assume this is just another playlist thrown together of love songs and in a sense, it is. However, this mixtape is a collection of love songs you workout too. I know. I know. You’re doing a double take at the tracklist going, “Gwanzo, the only song I could possibly work out to is the Lupe Fiasco and is the one of the Lupe Fiasco’s a typo?” I understand the confusion and no it’s not a typo. I personally cannot listen to hype or “crunk” music when I workout and to keep me from thinking about how long I been on this machine or how long I have to go until I finish this mile, a good movie playing in my head distracts me. Also the hyper music makes me lose my stride. My body can’t ever figure out what rhythm to follow, it’s own or the beat to the music. Once the confusion starts, it’s downhill.

However, with this tracklist I can lose myself in a love story. The hypeness that surrounds the energy of Her when she’s out and about minding her business which is “I’m Beaming” which follows by a love at first sight meeting (“What If I Kissed You”), all the way to the first time Her and her lover made love  (“In The Middle”) to the part where it starts to crumble (“Is it?”) and she loses her mind (“I’ll Kill Her”), and to where her healing begins (“Bittersweet”) and when she gets surround by the warmth of her old energy (“I’m Beaming”).

This is for the people who walk down the street listening to their iPods pretending to be in a music video having flashbacks of love scenes that may or may not have happened and explosive break ups that now get to end in the way you wish they could have. This is for the people who have to have a soap opera to lose themselves in and to distract them from the gruesome walk/run back to the place that they started (Is it me or is it always harder to walk/run back from a destination?).

This is different and unique so if you want to add a little something to your workout this is it! (How homo of me.)

New Video: Janelle Monae – Cold War

Alright guys, there are several reasons why this video is greatness. 1) Janelle is beautiful! No SERIOUSLY! She’s stunning even her cry face is gorgeous and I can’t say that about anyone. 2) Her voice is amazing! There aren’t many artist that can touch her vocally and I appreciate the fact that she always gives us some kind of substance with her music. Lately I’ve been feeling a lot of the simple themed videos. I’ve always said that I don’t necessarily need to be razzle-dazzled to enjoy a video. Sometimes we let videos overshadow the music and we end up trying hard to make the connection with the song and the video and how the two go together. There are times when the music should speak for itself this is a great example of that.
